Urutau [u·ru·tau]: The urutau is a nocturnal bird of the order Nyctibiiformes of the family Nyctibiidae. Also known as mother-of-the-moon, urutau comum, urutágua, urutágo, Kúa-kúa and Uruvati (indigenous names - Mato Grosso). The name Urutau is of Tupi origins and means “ghost bird”. For many people, the sad song of the Urutau is an omen, but it is said that finding an Urutau is a sign of luck.
And how lucky you are to find us! We are Estúdio Urutau, an indie game studio based in Brazil. Estúdio Urutau was created by undergraduate students from UFRJ - Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. We are part of NuPNE (Núcleo de Pesquisa em Narrativas Eletrônicas)- a research project in Game Studies. NuPNE's goal is to give its participants the opportunity to create games. At Estúdio Urutau, we create varied and exciting games that are made with enthusiasm and care. We hope you enjoy our productions!
